Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Email address — collected when you sign in via Google OAuth, stored in Supabase.
• Billing metadata — name, email, and subscription status processed by Stripe when you upgrade to Pro.
• Caption text — subtitles from the video you are watching are sent for translation and/or text-to-speech. This data is not stored; it is processed in-flight and discarded.

Third-party processors

• Google Translate — caption text is sent to Google Translate for translation.
• OpenAI — caption text is sent to OpenAI for translation (Pro) and text-to-speech for major languages.
• Microsoft Azure — caption text is sent to Azure Cognitive Services for text-to-speech synthesis in languages not covered by OpenAI.
• Supabase — stores your account email and auth tokens.
• Stripe — processes payments and stores billing metadata for Pro subscribers.

Data retention

• Caption text is not stored — processed and immediately discarded.
• Billing metadata retained for 12 months after your last subscription event.
• Auth tokens stored in Chrome extension local storage; cleared on sign-out or uninstall.

Analytics

The extension does not use any analytics SDK or tracking pixels. We do not track your browsing or viewing behaviour inside YouTube.

The marketing website (yt-dub.com) uses Vercel Web Analytics — cookieless, IP-anonymized page-view counts only. No cross-site tracking, no advertising identifiers, no personal data. Do Not Track is respected.
